2023-24 REGISTRATION INFORMATION

RDSC RAMP Registration

Click the “REGISTER NOW ON RAMP” button to set up a RAMP account and complete the online registration. You will not be able to register in a program that is not inclusive of your child’s birth year.

Due to insurance requirements each parent must also hold a general membership with Alberta Alpine. You are able to do this in your RAMP account as a separate entry from your athlete. This can be found on the initial page when you log onto RAMP under Executive/Volunteer Registration.

If you have any questions or difficulty with using RAMP please email secretary@rdskiclub.ca

Registration fees will not be made through RAMP. You will be sent an invoice with instruction for payment.

Additional Registration Details and Requirements

In an effort to provide transparency and allow families more choice in how they contribute, we have rolled all of our commitments into one cost. The fee that you see is reflective of the actual registration costs.

Families then have the opportunity to fund raise and volunteer to offset their own registration costs.

Registration fees are due in full by November 30,2023. New this year, we will be using Quickbooks to generate invoices which will be sent to families with options for payment. Options e-transfer and credit card (may be a fee for cc), details to be on the invoice.

FOLLOWING YOUR REGISTRATION IN RAMP, YOU WILL BE EMAILED AN INVOICE VIA QUICKBOOKS FROM THE TREASURER (WITHIN A WEEK). INITIAL FEE OF $300 /ATHLETE IS DUE WITHIN A WEEK OF RECEIVING THAT INVOICE OR SPOT WILL BE FORFEITED.

Refund Policy

Initial registration fee of $300 is non-refundable.

By December 31, 50% less the $300 is refundable.

By January 31 25% less the $300 is refundable.

After January 31 no refunds will be issued.

Alberta Alpine fee cannot be refunded by RDSC. AA has their own policy on refunds.

Your total fee will be reflected in your Ski Club Account as a reduction of credits for volunteer hours and fundraising. Credits will be applied at the END of the season.

Parent Volunteer Commitment

The Red Deer Ski Club is a non-profit society. We require volunteers to operate the ski club. We provide families with financial recognition that is applied to their ski club account. Volunteering earns credits which can be applied to your registration, racing fees, and other approved expenses. Full details will be available in the Parent Handbook.

There are many ways to get involved:

We require 1 lodge parent and 2 on-hill parents every Saturday. Sign up will be available in November, and throughout the winter. We are hosting races this year which requires dozens of helpers on and off the hill. Our Board always needs help with fundraising, potlucks, Family Day race, etc.

We welcome any great new ideas and talent ! Are you good at marketing? Fundraising? Event planning? Please let us know how your energy and skills can help out yours and our athletes.

In previous years we required a $300 post-dated cheque to cover the cost of the program which would be returned following completion of your volunteer commitment of 15 hours. With the changes to registration,  we have now rolled that into the cost of the program with the option to have that amount deducted/returned to families after meeting the volunteer commitment.

Training Bib Deposit

All athletes in U6, U8, U10 and U12 programs must wear a coloured bib during training at Canyon Ski Resort.

A cheque for $50, post-dated April 30, 2024 is to be submitted for each athlete under the age of 12, at the time of registration. This cheque will be returned to the family once the training bib is returned at the end of the season.

Required Skill Level

**To participate, children must be able to get up the blue t-bar and ski down the beginner area at Canyon Ski Resort on their own. The descent can be in the form of a snow plow, but they must be in control. If you are unsure, an assessment will be made at the beginning of the season to determine if your child needs additional lessons. Lessons can be arranged through the ski school at the Canyon Ski Resort.

Additional Information:

This year wifi at Canyon Ski Hill will be included in your registration fee. Coaches will be communicating and tracking attendance with the StackTeamApp.
